◎简 介
金斯教授是威尔斯大学的生物学教授，他是一个超级大胖子。这个原因使他在学校中总是闹出一些小喜剧。有一次他误开了实验室的鼠笼，使得上千只老鼠在学校中乱窜。这惹火了校长里奇，他警告了金斯，并要他去见学校的一个投资者哈利。金斯回到实验室，发现他所进行的新药实验成功了。药物改变了小白鼠的DNA，使之减轻了体重。
金斯认识了化学教员女研究生，漂亮的卡洛小姐。他对她很有好感并约她吃饭。但在俱乐部中，金斯却受到了主持人瑞基的捉弄和嘲笑，使他在卡洛面前抬不起头来。回到家后，金斯将实验用的药水喝了下去，他在药水的作用下变成了瘦子毕地。但这种药水有一定时限，到时间就又恢复原状。毕地约卡洛再去俱乐部，这回他报了仇，将瑞基扔到了钢琴里。金斯的助手发现了他的秘密，并指出毕地不稳定，劝教授不要再干了，可金斯为了与卡洛约会，依旧喝下了药水。在饭店里，毕地代替教授描述了实验项目，并争取到了哈利的投资，但他的放荡无耻却令卡洛十分伤心。
里奇校长认为毕地解决了学校的难处，决定开除金斯。金斯喝下药水变成毕地来见哈利。毕地十分自私。他想喝下全部的药水，永远不再变回胖子。但这实际上就是杀死了金斯教授。这时，教授的助手赶到阻止了他。毕地又变回了胖子金斯。金斯讲出了真相。卡洛原谅了金斯，并鼓励他要认真生活，好好对待自己，两人在音乐声中翩翩起舞。
