数字的英文读法

小数中的点读成“point”，小数点前的数字按基数词来读，小数点后的数字则一个个单独读出。如：
7.8 读成 seven point eight
8.26 读成 eight point two six
0.59 读成 zero point five nine
47.08 读成 forty seven point zero eight
2）分数
分数由分子和分母构成，读的时候先读分子，用基数词表示；后读分母，用序数词表示。分子为1的分数，分母即为序数词本身；分子大于1时，分母的序数词后要加“-s”。
1/2 读成 one half （不读作one second）
1/3 读成 one third
2/3 读成 two thirds
3/4 读成 three fourths 或 three quarters
读成 seven and an eighth 或seven and one eighth
3） -teen”和“-ty”
在基数词的听力中，“十几”（-teen）和“几十”（-ty）是考生极易混淆的词。听的时候要特别抓住词的重音，十几的数字一般重音在teen上；几十的数字重音在单词第一个音节。
4） 年代、世纪
三位数及以下的年份按基数词读，四位数的年份则两位两位的读。如：
1902 读成 nineteen oh two
1300读成 thirteen hundred
2000读成 two thousand
2004读成 two thousand (and) four
世纪的数字要按序数词来读，并在其后加century。
14th century读成 the fourteenth century
21st century读成 the twenty-first century
年代的读法往往是前两位读成基数词，后两位读成基数词的复数。碰到二十世纪的年代，往往前面的nineteen省略。如：
the 60s 读成 (the decade of) the sixties
或the nineteen sixties
5） 较大数字
英语中数字以三位数为一个读音单位，每个单位以逗号隔开，从小到大依次是thousand,million, billion。听音时，要特别注意听这样的单位。如：
one thousand and one1,001
four hundred and seven thousand407,000
one million two hundred and thirteen thousand 1,000,213,000
6） 电话号码
电话号码中数字的读法是以个为单位读出，碰到两个重复的数字读成double，如559，读成double five nine，也可读成five, five, nine。号码中的0可读成oh，也可读成zero。一般的读法，可以两个或三个数字为一单位停顿，以便于记录。
美国的电话号码由三部分构成：第一部分三位数字为州号；第二部分三位数字为地区代号；后四位数为办公室或家庭的号码。了解这一常识便于考生在听音中对电话号码的反应。
7） 价格
听力题中的价格常常以美国或英国货币单位出现。美国的货币有纸币（dollar）和硬币（以cent为分，a nickel五分，a dime一角，a quarter 25美分）；英国货币有英镑（pound）、便士（penny，复数形式为pence）。
$5.69读成 five dollars, sixty nine cents
￡5.69读成 five pounds, sixty nine pence
8） 以下是生活中相关的数字表达及读法
39℃读成 thirty nine degrees Centigrade
87℉读成 eighty seven degrees Fahrenheit
-7℃ 读成 minus seven degrees Celsius
7 miles / hour 读成 seven miles an hour 或 seven miles per hour
9) 零的读法：
在电话号码中读成zero或字母O的音；在数学以及表示温度中读成naught 或zero；在足球比赛中零的比分读成nil。

7/8 确实应该读成 seven eighths 没错。
